The Spiti valley is home to some of the most stunning & surreal high altitude lakes. The bronze folds, green meadows and stark skies surrounding the moonscape of these turquoise waters leaves one truly spellbound.
This journey begins in Manali and will take you to three major lakes in the Spiti valley, The Sapona lake (in the Manerang range), the Dhankhar Lake above the graphic village of Dhankhar and Chander Tal, the moon lake. The treks to these lakes gives one an interesting insight into the significance of these wetlands and all the biological diversity they support. From a wide array of medicinal plants and high altitude flowers we will also be visiting the habitats of Spiti’s unique wildlife, The Snow Leopard, The Himalayan Wolf and the Blue Sheep. The sightings of the latter are highly probable.
We will also showcase to you elements of Spiti’s rich culture through visits to some ancient monasteries, homestay accommodations, where one can savour the local cuisine and interact first hand with the villagers.
