Essential Spiti & Kinnaur Jeep Safari

The essential Spiti & Kinnaur jeep safari begins at Manali and takes you up and over the picturesque Rohtang and Kunzam passes and through the stunning and graphic valleys of the Chandra, Spiti, Pin, Baspa and Satluj rivers.

During this trip we will travel to the world's highest villages, visit ancient monasteries (including a 1010 yr old gonpa), visit a fossil centre, experience the Spitian way of life through traditional homestays, get an insight into the essential aspects of Spiti's history, culture and practices before heading into the spectacular valley of the Satluj river in Kinnaur.

The mighty Kinner Kailash will keep us company in Kalpa, and the enchanting Sangla valley is the perfect place to chill out for a couple of days. We take in the sights along the Hindustan Tibet road as we backtrack all the way up to Shimla.


Duration – 8 to 12 Days (additional days if we add a rest day).

Route – Shimla-Kinnaur & Sangla Valley*-Spiti-Manali (*subject to alterations due to road conditions)


This itinerary can also be run in reverse (starting Manali and ending at Shimla) provided the route is operational. The trip can also be booked as a Delhi to Delhi trip, wherein the Delhi to Manali/Shimla and Manali/Shimla to Delhi add on’s can be designed as per your need and convenience.

**The road to Spiti valley via the Kunzam pass usually opens for vehicular traffic in the beginning of June, Tours in the month of May will be routed as

Shimla – Spiti – Shimla and will incorporate the tour itinerary in reverse with minor adjustments (if the pass is closed for vehicles).
